About the event
For the eighteenth consecutive year, the Professional Artistic Association "EVENTUS" organizes the International Children's Ballet Fairy Tale Festival in mid-December. Renowned children's ballet schools from countries such as Germany, Georgia, Japan, Spain, France, Estonia, Lithuania, and others, come to visit children in Latvia, bringing with them ballet performances – fairy tales. Surprises are also prepared by participants from Latvia. Over the 17 years of the festival, young audiences have enjoyed ballet performances such as *The Ugly Duckling*, *Winter Tale*, *Snow White*, *The Nutcracker*, *Pinocchio*, *The Seasons*, *The Snow Maiden*, *Little Red Riding Hood*, the musicals *A New Old Tale...*, *The Little Witch*, *Lisbon Night*, *The Little Prince*, *Alice in Wonderland*, *Who Made Riga Resound*, *The Bremen Town Musicians*, *Puss in Boots*, *Peter and the Wolf*, *The Snow Queen*, and many others.
Each year, the festival offers between 3 and 18 performances. The atmosphere in the hall is filled with surprising, touching kindness, love, and magic. Young viewers empathize with the fairy tale characters, learning to appreciate goodness, friendship, and love. The vibrant emotional and aesthetic experience encourages both the audience and the performers to change for the better. This festival is an excellent example of creative collaboration and the development of choreographic schools and studios for children from different countries. Masterclasses are held for participants and teachers, while creative workshops are offered to the audience before the performances. Without a doubt, the ballet fairy tale festival is an important cultural event of the year.
We invite you, children and esteemed parents, to the magical world of ballet fairy tales!
